We currently have a vacancy for a Transport Manager to join our logistics team in Middlesbrough. In this role you will have overall accountability for a fleet of commercial vehicles delivering to a broad north eastern geography along with responsibility for managing a bulk fleet and exports orders through a common carrier network making the scope of this role dynamic. 

This all equates to the accountability and ownership of a yearly operational budget of approx. £2 million whilst managing a team of 14 direct reports. Within this role, you will work alongside the Operations Manager and UK Transport manager to ensure that customer service, adherence to legislation, and health and safety are prioritised. 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

You will provide effective and efficient leadership for our transport administration functions. The role is suitable for a highly motivated individual with previous experience of working within a Supply Chain & Logistics function. 

+ Point of escalation for internal and external customers
+ Executing key decisions in a fast-paced transport environment
+ Daily management of assigned control reports and daily tasks
+ Management of transport fleet plus responsibility for planning and administration personnel.
+ Daily management of assigned control reports and daily tasks
+ Effective management of cost control.
+ CPC responsibility for site.

We Are Looking For:

The successful candidate will have proven transport and scheduling skills, balanced with excellent leadership skills. You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to develop, influence, inspire and motivate others to reach higher standards and performance. You will be customer focused, have excellent numerical, analytical and computer skills. You will have the ability to work under pressure, delegate tasks and get the very best from the team. Experience of SAP and OTM (Oracle Transport Planning) would be significantly advantageous
