JOB TITLE: Facilities Technician
SALARY: Upto GBP33,000 depending upon experience (with shift allowance 35K) plus excellent benefits
LOCATION: Shipley, Bradford
HOURS OF WORK - Rotating AM/PM Shift Pattern
AM - Mon - Thu 6am - 2pm Fri 6am - 11am
PM - Mon - Thu 2pm - 10pm Fri 11am - 4pm
INTRODUCTION
Our client is looking for a Facilities Technician (ideally mechanical bias) to join their existing team. They are looking for an individual with excellent mechanical maintenance skills who will be a strong team player and have a confident personality to support the busy Facilities/ Maintenance Department. This role will involve the implementation of preventative maintenance, continuous improvement (key skill), corrective maintenance, overhaul and breakdown maintenance of the company's facilities and machinery as directed by the Facilities Supervisor, so that the company's ability to produce quality products in a timely manner can be achieved and maintained.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults
* Repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
* Diagnosing breakdown problems
* Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly
* Carrying out quality inspections on jobs
* Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues
* Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components
* Managing sub-contractors on site, ensure safe working systems etc
* Maintain heating and plumbing systems
* Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment
* Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
* Maintenance of pneumatics, hydraulics, compressors, cooling towers, pumps, gas burners and pipework
* Welding skills (not mandatory)
* Part of on call engineer rota
* Fully flexible regarding working hours and days, working weekends out of hours
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Business skills - be responsible for managing and liaising with suppliers/contractors
* The capacity to understand a wide range of engineering functions and procedures
* Team working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels
* Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Knowledgeable in safety requirements for maintenance activities and site wide activities
* An understanding of engineering drawings and principles
* The ability to work quickly and under pressure
POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE
* Time served apprenticeship in Engineering, preferably mechanical
* F-Gas (preferable)
* Compressor plant experience (preferable)
* Cooling Towers and associated Legionella experience (preferable)
* LOLER Regulations understanding (preferable)
