Creative Industries Team Leader – Media Specialism – BLUC82824

Kingston

Salary £37,516 - £40,890 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance

The Creative Industries School provision currently includes Acting, Production Arts, Digital Arts, Art, Design, Media, Fashion, Dance, Music Technology, Games Design, 3D Design and Photography, with students on study programmes, access courses, apprenticeships and higher education courses. Our focus is on ensuring that current and future students receive a first class experience than enables them to progress and attain their qualifications at high levels and to develop long lasting learning and employability skills.

As a member of the School Management Team, the Creative Industries Team Leader has collective responsibility for the implementation of the Creative Industries School improvement plans, as well as contributing to College objectives and improvement plans. The specific remit is to raise the success rates and value added through focused work and to develop staff performance and/or student engagement. This role has a management capacity with a very specific focus upon immediate and sustained improvements.

We currently run a Level 2 and Level 3 in Media skills and we’re looking for an individual who has a keen and current understanding of the Media industry and who is able to support both HE and FE students to develop higher skills as directed.

This is an exciting opportunity in a thriving and successful part of the provision. We’d like to hear from those who are educated to Degree level or who hold a relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and who have expertise in 3D design in digital and practical contexts. You should have excellent current teaching skills, recognised as a good or better teacher, and have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential.

Hardworking and flexible, you will have knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies and have a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area. We’d also ideally like you to have experience of managing, supporting and developing staff, however this is not essential.

Closing date for the return of an online application form is Tuesday 25th June 2019.
