The Creative Industries School provision currently includes Acting, Production Arts, Digital Arts, Art, Design, Media, Fashion, Dance, Music Technology, Games Design, 3D Design and Photography, with students on study programmes, access courses, apprenticeships and higher education courses. Our focus is on ensuring that current and future students receive a first class experience than enables them to progress and attain their qualifications at high levels and to develop long lasting learning and employability skills.

The Head of Section for Art and Design will lead and manage the Art and Design section and be a member of the School Management Group. Along with other members of the School Management Group, you will be responsible for communicating the policies and procedures we agree and adopt such as; target setting and progress review calendars, and then ensuring that all staff deliver them to a high quality and comply with the expectations set.

We’re looking for an individual who holds a Degree or appropriate professional qualification in an area relevant to the work in the section and who has substantial relevant teaching experience, recognised as a good or better teacher. You’ll have demonstrable leadership and management skills in the context of curriculum and staff management along with experience of leading and working within teams, identifying training and development needs for both teaching and support staff.

Those who are experienced lesson observers will be of distinct advantage, as will those who hold or who are working towards a management qualification.
