Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Job type: Full time, Permanent (40 hours a week) Monday - Friday

They need a passionate horticulturalist to lead their small Garden Nursery Team in 2019 and beyond, helping them provide their customers with the right plants to suit their garden.

With nearly 50 years of experience and thousands of delighted customers, the company is highly regarded for its professional service and quality workmanship in garden design, construction and maintenance. They want to become a leader in garden landscape plant production and supply.

Based in Curdridge, Southampton the company's services cover the whole of Hampshire and into the surrounding counties.

Job Duties:

You would run their 2 acre Nursery site and plant production facilities undertaking a variety of jobs throughout the seasons. You would ensure the site and its equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.

You would enjoy the challenge of procuring stock from a variety of suppliers across Europe. Visiting these sites to build relations and analyse potential new specimen lines.

Key Skills:

Essential

  • Experience of working in a garden nursery / garden centre
  • Stock procurement
  • Plant knowledge & identification
  • Plant growing, pruning, shaping & spacing
  • Working in a sales and customer focused environment
  • Driving licence

Desirable

  • PA1/PA6 spraying licence/qualification
  • Horticultural qualification
  • Operate safety at all times within the H&S policy
  • Computer literate
  • Organisation and stock control experience
  • Good interpersonal skills
