Our Chester/Maelor Agency is going through a period of transition after the retirement of an established Agent. You will be Working with an established, loyal base of rural and farming client and soon see that there are great opportunities to increase sales within the agricultural market.
Your opportunity as an NFU Mutual Agent
We're looking for business leaders, rather than insurance specialists, although knowledge of insurance or finance would be useful. As an Agent, you will work in partnership with an additional two Agents, running an Agency under the NFU Mutual name, selling our award-winning products and services. You'll have the freedom to develop plans and strategies, recruit a team and expand your ambitions. It's a chance to use your entrepreneurial flair to grow a business with a full range of customers, from farmers to homeowners, commercial businesses to car owners.
This means you'll need a combination of personal and professional qualities. You'll be an excellent communicator, great with people from a wide range of backgrounds, with the ability to spot a sales opportunity and develop new business. With an entrepreneurial attitude and a clear vision, you'll be commercially sharp and open to innovations to continually improve your Agency.
As well as being a strong and influential business leader, you'll also be an inspirational and motivational manager to your team. Collaborative, positive and supportive, you'll give them opportunities to develop their talents, while making sure they work to all relevant regulations and standards of compliance.
Acting as an NFU Secretary
In your NFU West Cheshire Group Secretary role, you will be employed by the NFU and will provide assistance and direction on a variety of farming issues, sell the NFU's range of membership services and champion British farming by representing local farmers and arranging meetings and events for our farming members. Working with over 300 farming members from the dairy, livestock, horticulture and arable sectors you will develop and build strong relationships with your customers and members, and become a leading figurehead in the local community. Experience of or an affinity with farming and rural matters would give you a distinct advantage and a real head-start in the role of the NFU Group Secretary.

On target earnings will be competitive dependent on experience.
