Senior Development Manager (Property, Residential) WJGS82735
Reporting to the Development Director, the Senior Development Manager will work within the Development team at Watkin Jones, a specialist Developer and Operator in the student accommodation and build to rent sectors. You will support the Investment team during the appraisal and acquisition stages and undertake and advise on technical due diligence to inform the development appraisal, with the support of internal colleagues and external consultants.
The Senior Development Manager will also lead on the appointment of consultant teams, manage the design process to maximise scheme efficiency, oversee planning applications, manage third party issues and prepare schemes for handover to internal construction teams.
We’re looking for a Senior Development Manager who has previous experience with a housebuilder, build to rent and/or student accommodation developer. Experience of site appraisals, technical due diligence and appointing professional teams is essential, as is experience of maximising design efficiency, managing the planning application process, negotiating S106 agreements, discharging planning conditions, managing third party matters and managing detailed design and procurement process.
Direct experience in a client development management role is essential but we will also take into consideration candidates with a PQS background who have switched to development management. Post contract experience would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
