Building Services Manager

Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR)

£30,395-£39,609

Reference: SA19132

The Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual to lead our Building Services Team, with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Building.

You will manage a planned and breakdown maintenance service for all mechanical and electrical plant and services within the Building, involving colleagues from the University Estates Management and Building Services where necessary.

Working closely with senior managers, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of any alterations or refurbishments within the Building. You will also act as the Fire Safety Officer to the Building and be responsible for the management of Health & Safety of the Building Services Team. You will manage three maintenance technicians and be responsible for overseeing contractors and University's Estates Management staff involved in work within the building.

You should be qualified to HNC or equivalent, or have undertaken a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance and have had relevant experience of working in a mechanical/electrical maintenance environment.

Although you should ideally have experience in operation and maintenance of BMS, mechanical services plant, HAV (including steam operated heating systems), and 415v electrical distribution, consideration will be given to less experienced applicants with potential to learn and develop into the role.

In exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a supplement to the salary range stated for this role. Any such supplement would be awarded on the basis of exceptional achievement and is entirely at the discretion of the University.

The closing date is 23rd June 2019.

Interviews are likely to be held on Thursday 4th July 2019.

Previous applicants need not apply.
