Junior Product Designer

Vital Spark Creative Ltd seeks a top-notch Product / Industrial Design graduate to work as a Junior Product Designer in our fast-paced Cornwall studio on a wide variety of exciting projects.

Required Skills / Attributes:

• Product / Industrial Design degree or similar
• An Innovator – someone who can think differently and solve tricky design challenges
• A Self-Starter – someone who can be given a task and left to get on with the job
• A Worker – someone that is diligent and will knuckle down to get the job done
• A People Person – someone who can deal with clients in a professional manner

Preferable Skills / Attributes:

• An Artist – someone who can create quick sketches to communicate ideas
• CAD - someone who can build reasonably complex CAD models in Solidworks or similar, or feels that they have the ability to learn.
• A Manufacturer – someone who understands various manufacturing processes

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Concept Design       - 30%
• 3d CAD Design          - 50%
• Client Liaison            - 10%
• Learning new skills    - 5%
• Other                        - 5%

Vital Spark Creative is a Product Design consultancy based at the Tremough Innovation Centre on the Penryn Campus near Falmouth.  Innovation is at the heart of what we do, designing and engineering products for both big brands and individuals alike.  From Household Utility Products, to Medical Products, to Children’s Toys, we work with our clients and guide them through all aspects of the product development process from concept to shelf.  We offer a flexible working policy and encourage members of staff to surf, sail, swim, run, cycle, go to the beach and generally make the most of the outdoors and being in Cornwall!
