The Royal School for the Blind, Liverpool offers educational placements for children with visual impairments and moderate to severe learning disabilities.  Placements at the school are for both day and residential children. 

It is the aim of the School to provide the highest educational and care opportunities for all our children. The ages of the young people range from 2 - 19 years.

HLTA/TEACHER

Dates: To commence September 2019 or at earliest opportunity  

Salary: Dependent on successful candidate:

• HLTA NJC Scale Points 6 – 9 (£19171 – 20344 for full time equivalent). Pro rata down to reflect term time salary would be £16222 - £17214 plus SEN allowance.
• UNQ/MPR 1 – 6 Depending on experience and qualifications plus SEN Allowance

Contract term: Permanent

We would like to recruit the right candidate to develop. You may be a qualified teacher or HTLA, or aspiring teacher working towards qualification with a passion for working with children and the ability to promote our vision. You will be qualified to degree level, or equivalent and be prepared to study to be a QTVI.  It is desirable that you will have experience of working with children with multiple disabilities, emotional and behavioural difficulties and be able to work as part of a team. You will have a flexible outlook and good listening skills with the ability to be firm but compassionate in nature.
