Service Support Engineer -Military Communications, Data Communication Systems, Radio Systems, Link 16, SATCOM
Our client is a highly successful global aerospace company they are looking for a Service Support Engineer to deliver world class pre and post-sales support service to customers and end users for their Communications products and solutions. These include systems such as military vehicle intercom systems, counter-IED detection systems and airborne communications equipment.
As a Service Support Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* Demonstrable experience with military communication equipment essential.
* Experience of delivering customer service in a technical environment
* Work experience on maintenance of electrical & electronic equipment
* Knowledge of military armoured vehicles
* Technical experience in fault finding and resolving issues
* Technical training experience
* Previous experience working on Military vehicles or communication systems
* Strong literacy and numeracy
* Familiarity with digital and analogue communications systems.
* Familiarity with basic RF systems & data communication systems including IP and serial interfaces advantageous
* Familiarity with military vehicle electrical systems advantageous.
* Practical skills in electronic component level repair, equipment integration, wiring and installation
* An ability to communicate technical information to customers at an appropriate level
* An ability to see product issues and staff behaviours from a customer's perspective
* A problem solving and corrective action approach
* Willingness to learn new technologies and product ranges
* An ability to diagnose and solve problems of all types, co-ordinating cross functional activity when required
* Generating and accepting feedback to drive improvements in business process
* Strong inter-personal skills and be self-motivated
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Prepared to travel internationally
As a Senior Service Support Engineer your key responsibilities will include:
* Take full ownership of and lead the investigation of customer problems, co-ordinating all required resources to ensure timely resolution and feedback through the support ticketing system.
* Deliver formal and informal training to customers & end-users, to ensure that they are able to maximise their investment in the purchased equipment
Customer Support
Provision of both remote and on-site technical support across our customer base.
Provide technical support to review meetings between the company and our customers.
Work closely with both our customer base and the product development team to qualify new features requested by our customers.
Collection of technical requirements from the customer for future enhancement of the product.
Sales Support
Build and maintain close relationships with key customers.
Provide demonstrations of capability to existing and prospective customers including supporting the configuration & test of demonstration of our communications products. Take responsibility for organising technical equipment availability, including checking the product and system contents and relevant system functionality.
Provide assistance to end users and customers, to define the correct configuration & operation of the equipment in the customers' application, resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction with the solution provided
Technical
Maintain a good understanding of military communications standards such as WIN-T VICTORY, Link 16, etc.
Maintain knowledge of popular military radio and SATCOM equipment.
Maintain a good understanding of the operation of our product base.
Project Delivery
Support the survey, integration, installation and commissioning of new communications equipment within military vehicles and aircraft
Support "one-off" projects as required.
