Huxton Resourcing are currently recruiting permanent practical based learning support assistants to start in September 2019 for our client who provides Residential and Day Provision for Ages 16-25. The main responsibility of the role is to assist and support the students both in a classroom setting and practical settings which include outdoor activities.
This residential and day provision comprises an array of craft workshops, social enterprises, studios for local artisans, a performing arts centre, and the 40-acre Vale Head Farm set in the surrounding hillside. Crafts here draw from the local traditions of glass blowing and etching, as well as the performing arts, woodland management, and farm work.
Our client provides innovative and experiential education for children, young people and adults with special learning needs. We are looking for the right people to join our team to provide safe and constructive educational placements to young people with a wide range of complex learning, mental health, emotional and behavioural difficulties who can also display low level challenging behaviour.
* You will have ability to work primarily during Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm.
* You will need an empathetic approach to create a warm, safe and stimulating environment and be able to relate positively to young people.
* You will have good verbal and written communication skills, I.T Literate along with enthusiasm, insight and creativity.
* A good standard of education is required along with work experience in related areas.
* Being a driver with access to your own vehicle is desirable.
