Cordant People are recruiting a client in Peterborough as below:-

They have a need for for 2 Planners to join for up to 6 months to support IN either a Supplier facing or internal Stakeholder capacity. In either capacity the candidate must have:

- A demonstrable background in the "fast moving goods" industry

- Ability to multitask several tasks at once

- Great communication skills and ability to negotiate with internal/external customers

Their workload will be of a transactional and repeatable nature, but no 2 days will be the same!

Job Summary

Under general supervision, determines the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule or independent customer demand. Expedites purchase or production orders as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

• Reports any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard.

• Complies with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations.

• Engages in HSE training.

Quality

• Follows applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures.

• Collects data on material planning master data (lead time, order quantities, etc.) to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP).

• Works with Quality to disposition non-conforming material in a timely manner.

Delivery

• Initiates purchase and work orders to support the demand plan.

• Participates on allocation calls with Sourcing Manager, supplier, and other other entities to understand nature and impact of constraints.

• Works with suppliers to reduce lead time and order quantities balancing supply with demand.

• Supports excess inventory reposition activities to other other locations with supporting demand.

• Provides accurate, timely updates specific to inventory availability and back order recovery plans.

• Assists in ramp up / ramp down activities to meet demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

Qualifications and Competencies

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

A DEGREE IS NOT REQUIRED

Skills

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

• PC literate (Windows, MS-office):

o Working knowledge of MS Excel

o Experience with GOMS, SAP, Oracle, or a similar ERP package; or another Inventory Planning system is a plus.

• Quality/Improvement Skills: General Business Knowledge, Managing Work, Problem Solving, Customer Oriented, Perseverance

• Team Work Skills: Attention to Detail, Collaboration / Cooperation, Oral & Written Communication, Dealing with Ambiguity
