Events Manager

Salary £25,373 per annum. The role is a permanent full-time position. It offers an excellent working environment and benefits package including 34 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Venues Team.  The role will assist and support the Deputy Head of Venues - Events in the management and development of all types of event within the Students’ Union.  There are several venues within the Union including one of the largest nightclubs in Cardiff, a large scale concert space and several smaller intimate venues, including the Taf Pub. We host a wide range of events including student and society events, big name live music and dance acts, student club nights, and corporate and private events.

The successful applicant will be able to provide practical experience in managing large scale events and demonstrate creativity within event operations.  They will also have operational and duty management experience within the events industry and should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The position is a ‘hands on’ management and supervisory role, responsible for delivering all aspects of the organisation’s events and in-house production operations.  The role will suit a dynamic, ambitious individual who thrives on a challenge and the varied nature of the job. The successful applicant will also have responsibility for the administration and monitoring of several high volume email accounts all relating to the planning and smooth running of our internal operations.

The successful applicant will act as a source of expertise and provide guidance for the tasks undertaken by the team of staff they will manage.  The role will also assist in the recruitment, training and supervision of student staff.
