Finance Manager - ACCA / CIMA / ACA Qualified
£50,000 - £55,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our bespoke electronics company. We develop and manufacture electronic systems to meet our customers’ precise needs, working across a wide range of sectors including Automotive.
We are constantly striving to improve our products and processes to ensure they reach the highest possible standards and we are currently looking for a Finance Manager to assist us in achieving our goals.
The Finance Manager Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director and working as part of the Management Team, your role will be to develop and maintain all necessary financial controls, systems and processes to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances and compliance with statutory requirements.
Finance Manager Responsibilities:
+ Produce accurate and timely reports and financial information to MD/Chairman regarding the Company’s financial status and performance
+ Develop systems and processes to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
+ Act as the main point of contact with external auditors and provide them with all required information
+ Checking sales ledger, purchase ledger and cash book entries
+ Preparation of nominal ledger accounts including entry of journals
+ Monthly review of all balance sheet items
+ Preparing monthly management accounts
+ Managing Cash flow and associated reporting
+ Monitoring and reporting of project costs
+ Managing monthly payroll and associated calculations (i.e. holiday entitlement) for all employees, including issuing of P45s and managing year-end payroll and P11D
+ Managing the quarterly VAT return
+ Preparing R&D tax relief information
+ Updating of the Business Continuity Plan
+ Managing administration of Company pension scheme and insurance policies
+ Referring employee relations issues to HR Consultants and providing payroll and historical information to HR as required
+ Carry out any necessary internal audit reviews and monitor the financial effectiveness of systems and controls.
+ Recommend any changes necessary to improve the company's financial performance and financial controls.
+ Keep up to date with any developments in financial management which might affect how the company's finances are managed or its statutory obligations
Finance Manager Key Competencies and Requirements:
+ ACCA/CIMA/ACA Qualified
+ Demonstrable experience of managing financial control systems and processes;
+ Experience of managing computerized accounts systems;
+ Experience of analysing company financial data;
+ Managerial experience and experience of working closely with HR would be an advantage;
+ Experience working in a financial role in the automotive or manufacturing industries would be an advantage;
+ Good communication skills both verbal and written;
+ The ability to work independently in a self-directed, collaborative manner
+ Experience working with Human Resource functions and policies would be an advantage
+ Experience of process improvement
+ Ability to handle confidential financial information
+ Computer literate with experience of computerised accounting systems and MS office packages; especially Excel for complex data management
