Site Health and Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager (Operations)

1 year FTC contract maternity Cover

GBP45000 annum Pension ,12.5% Target Bonus, Family Medical Cover, 4x life Assurance,

Location: Derbyshire

Our client is a renowned FMCG manufacturing business, enjoying UK dominance and market leading status in their category sector.

An opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Manager to lead their HSE strategy for a large manufacturing site on a 1 YEAR FTC maternity cover contract. Providing leadership and management of the safety programme, driving HSE Management systems and cultural engagement

Role:

You will be responsible for Championing Health ,Safety & Management on site and actively promote a developing safety culture within the site.

You will assist with Ensuring that EH&S key performance indicators are fully integrated into, and properly reflected, in overall site performance reporting

Play an active part in site yield/ waste reduction on site with the production team

Co-ordinate the site EMS and Environmental permit

Act as the site's expert resource on all health, safety, and employer liability claims issues

Champion the need for improvements year on year in driving down accidents, management of near misses and in improving the sites employers' liability claims performance

Support the delivery of the audit programme, working on a cross category basis as an auditor on other Business Unit sites.

Implement internal health, safety and environmental standards, Key site contact with enforcing bodies and emergency services

Ownership and management of the site's HSE training programme

Requirements:

The successful candidates will be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, Significant relevant operational experience within the food industry or FMCG preferred, if not a fast paced manufacturing environment

A formal qualification in environmental is desirable i.e. IEMA Diploma in Environmental Management.
