Reporting to: Branch Manager
The role
Our Client's are seeking an experienced Trade Counter Supervisor with direct industry knowledge and experience to lead our small Trade Counter Team. We would also consider candidates with transferrable knowledge and skills from across the Construction industry but above all, we're looking for a strong work ethic, great leadership skills and a passion for customer service.
* Ensure a consistent, high standard of service is delivered by the Trade Counter Team
* Serving and assisting customers over the counter
* Operation of the till and database system
* Processing of Cash/Card transactions
* Raising of invoices/credits
* Daily reconciliation of the till
* Dealing with telephone enquiries and liaising with other departments
* Manage customer expectations/challenges in a professional and efficient manner
* Ensure effective communication between the trade counter and other departments
* Monitor the ordering and replenishment of stock
* Plan and arrange the presentation of trade counter displays to optimise sales opportunities
* Ensure the team are fully engaged with any marketing plans and the promotion of Company products and services
* Maintain and raise awareness of Health and Safety working practices
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
* Experience within a Trade Counter environment, preferably at a supervisory level
* Direct or transferrable industry knowledge and experience is highly desirable
* Presentable with a personable approach to customer service
* Accurate attention to detail and great organisational skills
* Excellent communication with the ability to cultivate long lasting customer and colleague relations
* Ability to lead and motivate a small team whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines
* Solution focussed with the confidence to make sound decisions
* Flexible approach to working and adaptable to meet the business needs
