Electrical Qualifying Supervisor - Salary - GBP31,500

Here at the Mears Group, we are searching for a skilled Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, while working in accordance to the relevant Safety Regulations and departmental procedures, you will have to carry out a variety of different duties.

As our next Electrical Qualifying Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the work carried out by a team of electricians (and where appropriate - electrical contractors) working at a branch and to install, service and maintain electrical systems and appliances in domestic and commercial properties to a high quality standard in accordance with the Regulations 1989 and in line with the requirements of BS 7671 (as amended) and Mears Electrical Procedures and Policies.

This role will require you to undertake multiple core duties which include:

* To undertake an annual assessment by an external governing body (NICEIC) to ensure that both the Working QS and the branch retain their registration in accordance with the NICEIC rules of registration.

* To carry out repair work as per works orders and in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure commercial requirements for the number of visits, quality and workmanship, service user satisfaction and costs are met.

* To carry out Inspection and Testing on ALL electrical work, ensuring all results are accurate and complete and to maintain all paperwork and electronic data records relevant to the work carried out and to ensure completion of the job is confirmed and a comprehensive and accurate history is available for audit purposes, which includes quality, H&S issues and for invoicing purposes.

* To carry out regular Quality Audits and Competence Assessments of the electrical operatives and electrical contractors.

* To participate in call out cover if and when required to ensure contract compliance & service user satisfaction for emergency repairs

To be consistent

* Experience with installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances in accordance with the current Edition of The IET Wiring Regulations

* Have the knowledge to install, repair, inspect & test electrical installations and have the ability to fill in correctly, the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report

* Exposure to Supervising a team of electricians and apprentices ensuring that work is carried out in a safe and timely manner

Essential qualifications:

* City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, or

* NVQ Level 3 Including AM2, or

* City and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3, or (from Sept 2011)

* City and Guilds 2357 Including AM2

* City and Guilds 2392 - Fundamental Certification, Inspection and Testing??

* City and Guilds City and Guilds 2394 -Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations, and

* City and Guilds 2395 - Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations, and

* City and Guilds 2382-10/12 or 2382-20 (17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations) and the

* City and Guilds 2382-15 or to have proof of having taken an TBT or an update course (subject to holding C&G2382) encompassing the 3rd amendment to BS7671:2008
