The role:

Simmons & Simmons offers world class coverage of all aspects of international capital markets work, from debt capital markets to our leading derivatives, structured products and securitisation practices.

We act for financial institutions and corporates through our network of offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia and we are on the panels for all financial institutions who are active in capital markets.

In a world of fast-moving regulatory change, we believe that it is critical to provide our clients with a joined-up service combining transactional experience with regulatory expertise. Our capital markets team works closely with lawyers in our market-leading financial regulatory practices through which we have been involved in leading industry initiatives affecting the international capital markets.

We offer a service which has a reputation for being both partner-led, with significant partner involvement from initial structuring to execution, and cost-effective.

We are innovative, having worked on some of the most ground-breaking transactions in recent years, as well as developing a number of award-winning online legal resources and document automation tools. We also have a dedicated listings team which keeps in close contact with the principal European competent authorities.

Having recently expanded our debt capital markets group with the addition of a number of strong appointments, we are now seeking an associate to join the group in London. Ideally candidates will have experience and a background in debt capital markets and will have between 1.5 and 6 years' post qualification experience.

Our debt capital markets team has extensive experience advising financial institutions and corporates on international securities transactions.

We advise issuers, investment banks and institutional investors on a wide range of financings including:

convertible and exchangeable bonds
ECP programmes
EMTN programmes
Islamic financing (including Sukuk)
liability management and bond restructurings
regulatory capital and corporate hybrids
straight debt
strategic equity solutions
structured debt and high yield bonds.

Excellent academics

Applicants will ideally have between 2 and 6 years' post qualified experience in Debt Capital Markets which will have been gained at another leading City practice
Strong client focus with an ability and willingness to get actively involved in marketing and business development
Commercially driven
Able to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team
