New Receptionist Position

The practice offers services in both Lichfield (St Chads Health Centre) and Burntwood (Burntwood Health Centre and Chasetown Medical Centre).

The busy reception areas are run by a team of receptionists and open at 8.00am and remains open throughout the day until 6.30 pm. The practice also offers evening appointments until 8pm on Thursdays at Burntwood Health Centre and other days on a rota basis.

Applicants must be able to work well with others and also be motivated enough to work well on their own. Applicants must also be able to work under pressure and will need to cope with patients when they are upset or when they have a complaint.

Hours: In addition to contracted hours all receptionists are expected to work overtime to cover holiday or sick leave. Flexibility of working hours is essential. This could mean that you are sometimes needed to cover other shifts that start at 8.00 am or shifts that end at 8.00 pm. You may be asked to work a shift on your day off. You may also be asked to work your hours earlier or later in the day or extend your shift to cover absences.

Staff are required to undertake training at more than one branch so that they are able to provide cover when needed.

Salary: Dependent on experience.

Holiday: Staff are entitled to 5 weeks’ holiday pro rata.

In addition staff are entitled to bank holiday leave pro rata. Leave is calculated in days. Pension Scheme: NHS Pension Scheme Probationary Period: This employment includes a probationary period of thirteen weeks. This can be extended by a further 13 weeks if required.
