Why is our Developer Experience Team the next step for you?
The Developer Experience team builds and improves Worldpay's developer portal and this includes integration, testing, boarding and certification, from end to end. We're responsible for the UX, the tools, the infrastructure, the platform for the whole experience and we use data and user research to continuously improve. We're a small squad of smart, passionate and developer-oriented engineers, advocates, UX specialists and API writers and we work closely with technology and product to deliver a world-class experience and innovative tools and integrations.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
You're a strong hands-on developer who wants to move to the next level and is passionate about Developer experience.
You'll report into and work closely with our Head of Developer Experience to define the vision and strategy and manage the experience from a tool/development perspective to help push the boundaries on what is possible in Developer Portals.
•Build, operate, and improve developer.worldpay.com, adding engaging and responsive user interfaces, new tools (sandboxes, API explorers, demos), widgets, improved accessibility, and integrations to other systems (for example Apigee, Salesforce, and databases etc). You might also work to build a Chabot from the ground up to support developers, improve tools that help developers discover how our APIs work and test them, integrate with localization solutions, and implement new API endpoints for use across other products.
•Work side-by-side with technology and product teams to understand their needs and develop short and long-term solutions. Own the platform end to end. Manage your stakeholders and workload and work closely with the rest of the squad and Head of Developer Experience.
•You enjoy being a generalist, working on frontend, backend, infrastructure, data pipelines, as needed to solve problems and delight our users.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
In this role you will own the development of 'Worldpay Developers', our developer portal, both front end and back end using a number of different technologies and the best tools for the job.
You'll have excellent knowledge of Javascript including frameworks Angular and Node , HTML and CSS, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser and device compatibility and accessibility. You'll have experience working wth Agile and Lean delivery approaches such as continuous integration/delivery and in particular TDD/BDD with Jasmine, Karma, Rspec and Capybara. Experience with web development frameworks such as Django and Express would be advantageous.
