We are looking for a Market Access Manager to work as part of a dynamic team to drive the launch of a new insulin delivery device to the UK/Ire market.
The Market Access Manager enables the adoption of Diabetes Care solutions by engaging with key clinical and non-clinical stakeholders as a subject matter expert in Diabetes Care. Working as part of the Leadership team within BD Diabetes Care UK/Ire, the Market Access Manager supports the sales process by influencing key stakeholders and payers that make solution choices in the buying and funding process.
Key Responsibilities
The Market Access Manager develops strategies to support and assist the business in close collaboration with the clinical team, HEOR team, Public Policy team and marketing to prepare and execute tailored projects with customers to provide:
  • Stakeholder mapping and prioritisation
  • Establish and build relationships with key senior stakeholders within National Diabetes Advisory roles, reimbursement authorities and CCG's.
  • Identify appropriates routes to market for the UK
  • Reimbursement dossier and value story creation.
  • Determine market entry and competitive price levels with reimbursement authorities.
  • Communicate relevant healthcare system changes to commercial teams and upskill team members to support Market Access Strategy
Additional Responsibilities
  • External policy shaping to shape the payment environment and internal collaboration to fulfill reimbursement and payment requirements;
  • Ensure that reimbursement procedures adhere to regulations, hospital and payers' operating procedures and manage the process
  • Ensure in-country launch sequencing, pricing strategies, evidence requirements and submission documents are aligned to broader commercial goals
  • Work closely with BD customers, hospitals, pharmacists, physicians and where useful patient organizations. Ensure full product-life-cycle approach to reimbursement pricing is managed, including access pricing, reimbursement price level maintenance
Successful Candidates should demonstrate:
  • Proven track record in a Market Access role (>2 years)
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices or Biotechnology industries
  • A minimum of 5 years sales and/or marketing experience
  • Demonstrable understanding of the NHS in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in reimbursement policy and EU healthcare.
  • Must have a commercial, not research, approach to Market Access.
  • He/she must be comfortable analysing reimbursement schemes, interpreting data and developing application strategies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management.
  • Strong academic record with minimum of bachelor degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree in healthcare policy, management, public health or health economics a strong plus.
Additional requirements:
  • Enthusiastic team player with energy, drive and determination, as well as a genuine interest in health care policy.
  • The ability to motivate and empower the team around them to support the Market access agenda
  • Familiar with medical devices technologies and the reimbursement policy environments that surround them, or an ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues.
  • The ability to see the 'big picture and challenge the Status Quo
Travel throughout UK (up to 50%). Occasional international travel may be required.
