Kwan Yick (UK) Ltd is a successful family owned and operated business, based in Newport, Gwent. We specialise in the distribution of high quality food and packaging branded products for the Oriental, Retail and Wholesale sectors of business, including restaurants, take - away and manufacturing.

Our primary aim is to achieve the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction. We are looking to recruit a Trainee Business Development Manager to join our company. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with industry knowledge who is looking to progress in their career. You will receive good training and support in our sale team. As fast paced, professional & growing company, we are looking for someone to grow with our team.

Job Duties:

  1. Liaises with senior staff and director to devise development  strategies, manage and check the progress of the development to utilise the resources to suit the strategies 
  2. Identifies problems concerned with business strategy, internal  policy, procedures
  3. Determines the appropriate method of data collection and research methodology, and interprets information gained and formulates and implements recommendations and solutions to the company’s directors and senior managers;
  4. Advises the company’s directors and senior managers in light of research findings on the company’s strength,  weaknesses and threats in the market
  5. Identify suitable business alliances, investors and suppliers for the company’s development and liaise with them;
  6. Analysis the current market development and how the company can suit  market’s needs and meet its demand;
  7. Assesses the functions, objectives and requirements for Kwan Yick to expand its businesses;
  8. Communicates with colleagues and customers to promote key products and sales
  9. Administrates and monitors customer accounts for growth and development opportunities;
  10. Regular communications and liaisons with customers and colleagues to manage and support accounts
  11. Provides reports to directors and colleagues with sales forecasts and individual customer challenges

Skill Required:


  1. good background in business operations to develop and implement innovative business processes and tools.
  2. Able to drive successful strategies for service, able to give suggestion to increase revenue, drive down costs and speed time to market.
  3. Able to liaise and manage strategic business alliances and partnerships with internal and third party agencies.
  4. Degree or above qualification preferably in Business and Management
  5. good experience in food retail and wholesale industry  is preferable
  6. vast product knowledge of oriental food related products
  7. Multiple language skill is preferable
  8. High standard of administrative and IT skills
