Trustee Opportunities
The Historic Croydon Airport Trust is the Charitable Incorporated Organisation established to operate the hugely popular Croydon Airport Visitor Centre (CAVC) and archives. Croydon Airport was London and the UK’s first purpose built international airport.
Due to the growth of our activities, we are looking to increase the number of our volunteer Trustees to lead the organisation through the next stage of its development and to ensure that the charity continues to meet the requirements of the Charity Commission.
These are “ hands-on” working Trustee positions and we are looking for enthusiastic people with experience in the following areas,
- Museum management and accreditation
- Archive management and exhibition development
- Business planning and development
- Securing corporate funding; patronage; fund raising
- Governance of charitable organisations
- IT and administration skills
The positions are unremunerated and are for an initial period of 3 years. The Trustee Board meets every 2 months for approx. 2.5 hours and Airport Open Days are on the first Sunday of every month between 10 am and 4pm.
