RAISING ACHIEVEMENT ASSISTANT

36.5 HOURS PER WEEK DURING TERM TIME ONLY - GRADE 3 £20,344 - £26,317 per annum (PRO RATA)  Actual Salary £17,786 - £23,541 per annum.

We are looking to recruit a Raising Achievement Assistant to support SEND students to raise their achievement and ensure that their barriers to learning are met appropriately, both in the classroom and through small group intervention. Applications from candidates with experience or interest in supporting pupils with EAL, Autism or Numeracy difficulties including Dyscalculia are particularly welcome.

We are seeking to appoint a Raising Achievement Assistant who is highly motivated and innovative in their work with young people who have additional needs.

Swanshurst is a very successful and innovative Specialist Science College for girls with 1800 students on roll aged 11-19 years. Ofsted (2017) found Swanshurst to be “An outstanding school”.

You will be working in a vibrant team and will bring with you particular experience, skills or interests in working with students who may have the following barriers to learning:

  • Specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyscalculia.
  • Autism, communication and anxiety barriers.
  • Literacy and numeracy.
  • General cognition and learning.
  • EAL
