Senior Account Handler - Marine Cargo and Freight Liability

Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Handler to provide an excellent service to their clients, covering all aspects of their insurance arrangements including mid term adjustments, renewals and claims. With experience in the insurance industry, ideally you will have some exposure in Marine Cargo and / or Freight Liability. You will be a confident and tenacious individual, accustomed to interacting with clients and all levels, providing exceptional customer service and feeling at ease as you build good working relationships with a number of external contacts including surveyors, suppliers, insurers and repairers. You will manage a portfolio of clients, providing advice and support to queries, maintaining contact with internal and external stakeholders, and keeping track of any issues that could affect insurance covers / premiums.
The main responsibilities / accountabilities for the role are:

  • Manage existing clients requirements on a day to day basis
  • Mid Term Adjustments / Invoicing
  • Preparation of Renewal documents for designated portfolio
  • Liaise with and advise clients on claims through to settlement
  • Assist Account Executives with broking and placement of new and existing risks
  • Liaise with insurers on quotes, renewals, negotiations of premiums
  • Acting as Account Executive on smaller cases, managing relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
  • Liaise with colleagues on issues arising from claims which may affect insurance covers/premiums
  • Refer any claims which may be subject to repudiation as per Binder Insurers instructions and agreements and notify
  • Account Execs / Managers and Head of Office
  • Visiting clients, insurers and other entities as is deemed necessary to fulfil the job role
  • Inputting all client and claim data accurately into Acturis
  • Following Acturis procedures guide.
  • Any other reasonable duties as directed

With demonstrable experience in a fast-paced environment, you will be accustomed to achieving results and delivering exceptional service to customers. You’ll be Cert CII qualified or working towards it and will be fully aware of the importance of adhering to regulatory requirements. You’ll be confident and proactive with the ability to build effective working relationships with clients. A team player, you will also be able to work autonomously, planning your own workload and adapting to sudden changes in the priorities.
