Our client, a Fire Authority, is seeking a highly professional individual to undertake the role of Fire Safety Inspecting Officer (Non-Operational) in the Fire Safety Department.

Contract: 18 Months Fixed Term Contract (possibility to become permanent)
Based: Luton Community Fire Station
Hours: 37 per week - Monday - Friday - flexitime
Salary: GBP31,371 rising to GBP34,788 per annum

As a member of a small team located in Luton, the post holder will contribute to the corporate aims of the Fire Authority through the enforcement of fire safety legislation across the County by auditing and advising on fire safety measures working with Local Authorities and specifically dealing with hazardous fire safety conditions found in the private rented housing sector in collaboration with the Rogue Landlord Teams.
The successful applicant will have formal qualifications regarding legislative fire safety, knowledge of fire safety legislation, the fire safety regulatory framework, HM Government published fire safety guides, codes of practice and risk assessment. Applicants must possess a full clean driving licence with no pending issues. The post holders will be required to provide and maintain a vehicle for business use. An Essential User Allowance will be paid.
This is a public-facing role and it is essential to have the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
