Quality Assurance Technician
Bodmin, Cornwall
£Competitive

Are you a proactive quality assurance professional with a passion for food? Does the thought of an imperfect pastry make you gasp in horror? If so, this is an amazing opportunity to develop your career with a fantastic business.

With a rich Cornish heritage, our client produces high quality pastry products that are enjoyed and loved by thousands across the UK. They are now looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join their team.

Within an exciting and innovative environment, you’ll have the chance to act as a saviour to pasty lovers everywhere and help maintain our client’s reputation for excellence.

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll be tasked with ensuring that our client’s quality systems and processes are maintained and adhered to.

In this diverse role, you’ll coach, mentor and support the Production Team on all aspects of quality, safety and legality to help them become purveyors of perfection.

Conducting GMP audits, you’ll carry out pre-production swab testing and analyse the results. Maintaining the foreign body log, you’ll issue quarantine and hold notices if necessary.

You’ll collect samples (not for eating, sadly) for testing and perform random line checks of products, communicating any issues to senior colleagues.

Additionally, you’ll undertake organoleptic testing of raw materials and final products to ensure that specifications are effectively followed.

Think you’re up to the challenge? To be considered, you must have:

- Experience of working in a technical environment
- A track record of working to BRC standards
- Strong coaching skills
- A food safety level 2 qualification

Disciplined and focused, as a Quality Assurance Technician, you must have excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management skills. You must also have superb attention to detail and be able to work on your own initiative.

Please note the working hours for this role are based on alternating shifts of 4:30 – 13:00 and 07:00 – 15:30 with the occasional cover of the 15:30 – 00:00 shift required.
