Seashell Trust runs Outstanding (Ofsted) special School and a specialist College together with 17 on-site residential homes for children and young people with complex learning disabilities, physical disabilities and multisensory impairments.
We are recruiting for a Practising Speech and Language Therapist to join our existing MDT.
Requirements:
• Demonstrable experience as a Speech and Language Therapist working with children and/or adults with profound communication impairments, including people who are non-verbal
• Good understanding of the communication needs of people with exceptional complex disabilities, including deafness, multi- sensory impairment and autism
• Understanding of augmentative and alternative communication systems
• Lead on the assessment of different diagnosis interventions and the management of students with communication and swallowing disorder
• Experience of leading staff training activities and providing staff supervisions preferred but may not be essential
• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification
• Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Registration with the Health Professions Council
