Overview:
First Military Executive Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager for one of our construction clients based predominantly at Hinkley Point in Somerset. Whilst the role is based in Somerset, some travel to Swindon, Avonmouth and other locations will be required from time to time.
The role is to take responsibility for the commercial function on a project or section of a project as directed. To deliver a commercial strategy and contribute to a result agreed with management whilst protecting the company's position through effective internal and external stakeholder management.
Our client encourages applications from Ex-Military personnel, however all applications will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Submit and secure applications to maximise cash income.
Prepare or approve subcontractor payments to ensure compliance with terms.
Produce accurate and timely forecasts and monthly reports to demonstrate contract performance.
Prepare communications to ensure that timely and effective replies are sent.
Monitor commercial and contract performance to ensure prompt and focused corrective action.
Systematically review and validate incoming information.
Ensure that local teams and workloads are balanced.
Mentor subordinate staff.
Lead regular commercial meetings internally or with client.
Any other duties consistent with your status and seniority, as necessary to meet the needs of the Company.
Skills and Qualifications:
Skilled and experienced in delivering to NEC style contract.
Experienced in control of a subordinate team.
Safety management.
Educated to degree level by qualification or experience.
Up to date understanding of legal and contractual matters.
Civil Engineering Construction, NEC Contract, Accountancy and general administration experience.
Professional and presentable; an ambassador for the business' values.
Willing to travel between sites.
Specific HE/NR experience is desirable.
Professional Status, PTS and Supply chain procurement would be highly advantageous.
Construction in the highway / rail environment.
