My client, a privately owned engineering firm based in the Fens, are looking to hire a an experienced Stores person with a background in heavy engineering and machining.
As this role involves manoeuvring large pallets of heavy engineered parts, you will need to be physically able and have prior experience of using warehousing equipment such as forklifts, strapping machines and racking. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for handling raw materials as they arrive into the business and despatching finished product on either the companies vehicles or various couriers.
Ideally you will have prior experience in a similar role, preferably within an engineering or heavy fabrication environment, and be able demonstrate a track record of accurate and professional work practices you have worked to. Knowledge of stock rotation, stock control, min/max stock systems and stores administration is key, as this is an autonomous role in which you will be expected to determine the work flow through the despatch area and positively impact on the companies processes. Due to the nature of the business, a background in tyre-fitting would be preferred, but is not essential.
My client offer a good hourly rate, with plenty of overtime during busy periods paid at time a third during the week and time and half at weekends
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm with 30mins for lunch
