RSR Police are currently recruiting for a temporary Audio Typist. Experience of working in a police major incident room is desirable or if you have undertaken police touch and audio typing with a legal services provider your application will be considered
We have multiple vacancies available for Audio Typists to work for law enforcement agencies across London and Home Counties. We have immediate starts available in London starting on an initial 9 month contract.
We welcome applications from applicants without recent experience. To be considered you will be assessed and if successful will receive further training. The role is to provide an efficient and effective secretarial support to the organisation.
Responsibilities
* To be responsible for word processing of all documentation required by the investigation team, including statements, reports, surveillance logs, interview tapes and prosecution documents.
* To research, compose and send out the complex responses to public/partner enquiries.
* To update the HOLMES database with specified information such as messages and action results.
* To provide balanced, accurate and reliable typed summary of a taped recorded interview in accordance with the Manual of
* To produce the summary of the tape-recorded interview within pre-trial issues and other defined time scales.
* To ensure the security of the tape and associated documents.
* Receive telephone calls, using discretion as to those which can be dealt with directly and referring others on as necessary.
* To scan existing paper files and update the electronic filing system. This will involve handling confidential and sensitive documentation.
Experience
* RSA II Typing or equivalent
* Audio and Touch Type
* IT skills including MS office
