If you’re interested in a career that makes a difference, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for three Lead Support Workers to co-manage a team of Support Workers who positively impact the lives of the people we support at our Supported Living Services in Ealing.

The Lead Support Workers will support adults with learning disabilities in their own home, to enable them to live a good life, and to achieve their goals. They’ll work as part of a team, supporting people in line with their person-centred support plans, and with all aspects of their daily life both at home, and out and about in their community.

The Lead Support Workers will also facilitate teams in achieving person-centred outcomes for the people we support, some of whom have profound and complex needs, to maximise the individual's independence, and enable them to be active in their communities.

You’ll provide coaching and supervision of junior colleagues to accomplish choice, control and understanding for the people we support, which will enable them to achieve what is important to them and their lifestyle choices.

Another key part of the role is being actively involved in the in the performance management, and motivating of your teams. Additionally, you will be 'hands on', leading by example through the provision of outstanding levels of service to the people we support.

Building relationships with the people we support, and their families is vital in this role, as is the ability to demonstrate your Knowledge of person-centred working and developing person-centred support plans with individuals.

Your hours will be 37.5 hours a week on flexible 7-day shift rota.

The successful candidate will be expected to work approximately 15 hours per week on administrative tasks and 21.5 hours per week on shift supporting people. When applying please ensure that you use your supporting statement to demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria for the role.

To be a successful Lead Support Worker you will need to demonstrate:

  • a practical and organised approach – willing to get involved in hands-on support for others e.g. cooking, driving, attending medical appointments
  • able to motivate others and build their confidence to try new things, meet new people, develop friendships and be active members of their community
  • ability to work with and lead a team and understand the importance of team work in relation to achieving desired goals and outcomes
  • ability to use a range of technology –internet, emails, databases, Microsoft office, excel, smart phone, iPad
