Triage Support Worker

Based in Ebbw Vale
Salary: £23,398 - £24,964 pa
Full time (37 hours)
Temporary cover until December 2019

Communities for Work (CfW) is a Welsh Government programme supported by the European Social Fund (ESF) that aims to tackle poverty through sustainable employment by providing intensive employment mentoring and support. The programme focuses on reducing the number of 16-24 year olds who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) and increasing the employability of economically inactive and long term unemployed adults who have complex barriers to employment.

The Welsh Government’s Communities for Work Plus will provide the infrastructure to support the ongoing delivery of Communities for Work. It will take forward the learning from the Lift Programme and enable Lead Delivery Bodies to enhance their employment focussed support for those, often with complex barriers, who are furthest from the labour market.

We are looking for a Triage Support Worker to provide support to the CfW team in Ebbw Vale and act as an initial point of contact in all cases.

This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, one to one with individuals and communicate with partners including those at a strategic level. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of what employment, training and educational support is available to be able to effectively signpost participants onto the programme. Strong organisational skills are key, along with experience in adopting, maintaining and monitoring a range of administration and financial systems and processes.
