We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our upper-tier COMAH Site in Cadishead, Manchester, overseeing production, warehousing & distribution

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the successful candidate will maintain high levels of operational safety, operational standards and financial control. Ideally, you will have experience of a leadership position on an upper tier COMAH site in the solvent/chemical industry.

You will also be expected to ensure high levels of service to both our internal and external customers.

Operations Manager Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Your main responsibilities will include all Site Operations Activity, which includes Production, Transport, warehousing activity and Quality coupled with EHS based activity including work instruction generation, COSHH and risk assessment.

Serious about Safety - This is an Upper Tier COMAH Site and is subject to scheduled visits from the HSE, Environmental Agency, the Local Authorities and Port Security which you will be expected to host and play an active part in ensuring the site maintains its status. Leading by example and setting the right standards for the site is crucial.

We Are Looking For:

You will be PC literate with experience of WMS/SAP systems, have excellent coaching, influencing and communication skills and have a "Can Do" customer centric approach.

You will be an excellent man-manager who leads by example and is able to adapt quickly and effectively to operational issues. Engineering/Technical skills and knowledge around Storage tanks, filling equipment, tankers, pumps and pipes with process/Technical problem solving skills and knowledge around flammable liquids and their hazards would be beneficial. You will also be required to work closely with key stakeholders from our EHS and Engineering functions to maintain and improve the site in both of these areas. Ability to train others and take on the key roles within the Emergency Plan, Site Main controller, Incident controller etc.

The site is a high-risk site by nature of its handling of large quantities of flammable liquids whilst also carrying out shipping activities and the ongoing capital investment engineering improvements. The individual required would need to maintain the service offering to the business whilst undertaking the necessary changes to ensure that the Company remains compliant. You will be outgoing and personable, a manager who takes pride in their work and leads by example.
