Key duties and responsibilities
Kobre & Kim is accepting applications for positions based in our London office for start in late summer 2019. All analysts have opportunities for advancement after their first year.
This position is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or young professional to gain substantive, hands-on experience in the dynamic fields of complex civil and criminal financial litigation. Analysts immediately join case teams and closely collaborate with the firm’s lawyers, enjoying levels of responsibility and client contact surpassing what other firms offer. Analysts also support knowledge management, global business development and strategic collaboration to drive the firm’s practice forward. Analysts will work with other analysts, lawyers and other professionals across all Kobre & Kim office locations.
Previous Analysts have found that the full-on experience and responsibility gives them a competitive edge when applying for training contracts and pupillages. In recent years, London Analysts have gone on to work for Hogan Lovells, Simmons & Simmons, Withers, 20 Essex Street, and Travers Smith & Braithwaite.
Compensation reflects the level of responsibility, and is highly competitive when compared to Magic Circle training contracts.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Analysts are typically top-ranked graduates from prestigious colleges and universities. Candidates must possess a four-year college degree, a strong academic background, and excellent writing, research, teamwork and communication skills. We strongly encourage applications from self-confident, highly motivated individuals who display a broad range of academic and extracurricular interests. Interest in exploring financial markets and pursuing a career in law is welcomed but not necessary. All majors including STEM majors should apply. Additional language skills — particularly Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Hebrew, Russian and German — are not required but a plus. Analysts are generally expected to remain with the firm for a minimum of two years.
When applying, include your application materials, state your earliest available start date and all language skills indicating the proficiency level (beginner, intermediate, advanced, fluent, native).
