Our client is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join thier team for a 15 weeks assignment to conduct powders testing in a safe, timely and reliable manner. Plus to support management in reporting testing information and identifying any quality issues as soon as they arise.
This is a 45 hours week role working on two alternating shifts:
(6am-3pm or 9am- 6pm alternating shifts)
Duties and Responsibilities
* Conduct laboratory testing and sampling reliably to the agreed European, British and internal procedures and standards
* Maintain a safe and tidy working environment and working to company policies and standards on health and safety
* Dispatching vehicles and coordinating dispatch and testing documentation at reception
* Reporting and recording test results accurately and on time and identifying any unusual or
* non-conforming results
* Maintaining daily checks and regular calibrations of laboratory equipment
* Reporting test results regularly and accurately
* Develop and maintain relationships with customer sales departments and the operations team
* Ordering of laboratory consumables and other items as required
* Raw material ordering as requested by the operations team
* Assisting the Quality Manager with other duties when required
Qualifications
Good basic level of education in maths and English
Experience
Experience of similar lab work and procedures preferable
Skills / Knowledge
Basic IT skills with Excel and Word
Conscientious with a good eye for detail
Good time keeping and able to deal with varied workload
Knowledge of ISO 9001 preferable
