Our client is looking for a Marketing professional to join their team in Bingley
The purpose of this role is to deliver marketing initiatives which raise awareness of our client as the partner of choice for ambitious, impactful researchers in the business, management, and economics (BME) research and practice communities.
The holder of this role will generate awareness of their ambitious journals and books publishing programme among academics and practitioners - both as readers and potential authors - driving usage of online journals and books content, sales of print and eBooks, and high-quality submissions of journal articles and book proposals to the publishing team.
This role would report to the Senior Marketing Manager, Business, Management, & Economics.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Articulating and raising awareness of our client as a partner in BME, both for academic and practitioner researchers, aligning this with the overall brand position of real impact
- Telling the story of the importance of BME research and their commitment to it across channels: website, social, face to face, email, advertising, sponsorship
- Commissioning and developing supporting pieces such as white papers, webinars, vlogs / podcasts and public engagement activities
- Clearly communicating the range of opportunities for publishing with our client, across a range of BME subjects and product formats
- Experimenting to find the most effective channels to reach target audiences
- Working closely with the BME editorial team to share information and stay up-to-date with our publishing strategy and issues in the BME research community
- Initiating and developing relationships with academic associations within the subjects for which we publish, to position us as a true supporter of the research community
- Sharing their story as an award-winning publisher founded by and for academics

- Strong marketing skills: brand strategy, channel and campaign strategy

- Data strategy and data capture to serve marketing purposes
- Collaboration and influencing across marketing, publishing and sales teams
- Listening and assimilating information
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects
- Ability to plan, negotiate and make decisions
- Ability to translate strategy into actions and key deliverables
Knowledge:
- Successful and modern marketing techniques
- Digital marketing
- CIM or other professional marketing qualification desirable
- Basic knowledge of HTML an advantage
- Basic knowledge of InDesign or other design software an advantage
- Closeness to or an interest in the academic research environment desirable
