The Organisation: 

Our client is recruiting on behalf of an independent voluntary managed hostel in Bristol. Working in partnership with the National Probation Service, the hostel provides accommodation for former offenders taking their first steps back into the community.  

Now, they are looking for an Assistant Hostel Manager to join their dedicated team.

The Role:  

As an Assistant Hostel Manager, you will support the smooth running of the hostel.  

Joining a team of six Assistant Hostel Managers, you will:  

- Support, motivate and engage residents in the process of changing their offending behaviour  
- Supervise residents in-line with hostel policies and procedures  
- Liaise with colleagues to resolve any issues  
- Communicate with staff, residents and external authorities  

About You:  

To be considered, you’ll need:  

- The ability to communicate effectively and confidently with different groups, including staff, residents, partnerships and local authorities   
- The ability to manage difficult or challenging behaviour 
- The ability to respond in an assertive and appropriate manner when dealing with stressful and difficult situations 
- Strong record-keeping skills  
- At a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths  

Other organisations may call this role Hostel Supervisor, Hostel Worker, Hostel Assistant, Trainee Social Worker or Social Worker.  

This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week.
