Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Complaints and Information Officer to join the business in the Luton area, initially on a 3 month contract, with view to extend.


To be the first point of contact for all enquiries and requests for service received by the team.

Provide information and advice to members of the public, internal customers and external partners, whilst developing strategies to reduce the number of complaints by looking for on the spot resolution to identified problems. This includes assessing requests from the Local Government Ombudsman, Information Commissioner and Housing Ombudsman in liaison with the Complaints & Governance Manager.

Ensuring that the data collected by the team is of good quality and complete, accurate, relevant and reliable for case monitoring, planning and managing services and robust enough to produce regular performance reports for analysis by the Complaints & Information Governance Officers.


* Responsible for recording all information received by the team relating to MP enquiries, FOI, EIR, SARs, complaints, data breaches and requests for service from members of the public.

* Provide reminders of open cases to allocated officers to ensure timescales and performance indicators are met, escalating appropriately to senior officers and managers to prevent cases becoming overdue and out of timescale.

* Ensure case management systems are up to date, accurate and reliable so that quantitative and qualitative data and performance reports can be produced on a regular basis for discussion at directorate and performance management meetings and forums.

* Minute meetings and providing general administrative support to the team and ensure that casual staff investigating complaints are supported and invoices paid in good time.


* Candidates with prior experience within the Public Sector would be of particular interest.

* Proven experience handlings requests for information, SARs or handling complaints

* Attention to detail

* Must be a team player

* Ability to work autonomously
