Enva is a leading waste management, recycling and resource recovery business based in the UK and Ireland. Enva England is the East Midlands leading Recycling and Resource Management company collecting and processing in excess of 500,000 tonnes waste per year, providing a comprehensive waste collection and recycling service to Industrial, Commercial, Construction and local Authority customers. We are proud to say that in excess of 95% of the waste is recycled.

We operate out of a 20 Acre site with in excess of 300 employees across our Nottingham and Leicester sites.

Location: Colwick, Nottingham

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor with a passion for driving Health & Safety improvements.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that both the employer and employees comply with safety legislation and that company Health, safety and environmental policies and practices are adhered to. You will also champion a positive health and safety culture throughout the company.

Responsibilities:

- Developing effective policies and procedures.
- Conducting and recording regular risk assessments and inspections.
- Supporting Investigations.
- Liaising with managers and making recommendations on safety standards.
- Working with Health and Safety Executive inspectors as and when required.
- Supporting operations with SWP's.
- Incident and accident reporting.
- Training employees on safety issues.
- Issue of PPE.
- Developing H& S communications (toolbox talks, SUSA discussions, newsletters, noticeboards, posters etc.).
- Delivery of H & S training.
- Staying up to date with health and safety legislation.

About you:

The successful candidate will have proven experience working within an HSE advisory role preferably within a manufacturing / heavy industry. Having a minimum of a NEBOSH general certificate, you will have the ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
