Cambridge - Electronic Design Engineer - Highly competitive salary - Advanced Electronics
Our client is a global leader in the use of an innovative ultrasonic sensing technology. Initially developed at Cambridge University, their technology facilitates precision measurement of gases and liquids in a variety of challenging environments such as subsea and space. Their unrivalled success has meant that they are now expanding further into new markets where their technology can be best utilised.
You will join an award winning systems team collaborating on this innovative electronics technology. Your role will be to assemble and test electronic modules and support systems designed to interface with gravity sensors. You should have experience with EMC testing, mixed signal circuit design and simulation (e.g. LTspice), schematic capture and multilayer PCB layout (Altium).
In this highly technical role you will also be involved in the improvement of existing software, electronic and mechanical systems. Experience with ASIC design and embedded software development (C/C++) will be a considerable advantage as will 3D CAD skills for mechanical assemblies (Solidworks, Creo PTC or Autodesk Fusion 360.)
Main Duties:
+ Work within the systems team to design and assemble electronic modules and support systems
+ Test and debugging of electronics modules and systems
+ Review documentation, schematics, PCB layouts and mechanical drawings and models
+ Liaise with subcontractors to manage specifications and delivery schedules
Skills and Experience Required:
+ Masters degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
+ 3+ years' experience with electronics design of measurement systems or sensors
+ Experience with serial and wireless communication protocols such as BLE, WiFi etc.
+ Analogue and digital design and test with microcontroller experience and design of analogue PCBs
The salary is attractive commensurate with experience and includes an annual bonus scheme, flexible working options and full access to an on-site gym
