Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: South Wales, Office Based

Hours: 38-hour week with a 1pm finish on a Friday

Salary: GBP30,000 upto GBP35,000 (depending on experience)

Perpetual Partnerships are currently working in Partnership with a Global name design, build and installation of high value Electrical and Electronic equipment. The business is hugely successful and have been established for 100 years and to date operate across 3 manufacturing sites globally. Due to continued growth the business a further opportunity has arisen for a Senior Commercial / Projects Engineer who is commercially aware.

The Role

This is an ideal role for a Senior Commercial / Projects Engineer looking to progress their career. You will receive full industry training to develop and become responsible for all management of aftermarket projects and any commercial disciplines that a project involves. As the Senior Commercial / Projects Engineer, you will play an integral part within the technical department providing support to tendering, order processing and all aspects of contract management to final sign off of the contract.

Project Management

The Project Engineer will take contractual responsibility for the life of the contract.

* Liaise with other departments (Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Accounts, Site Services etc) to ensure the contract is executed in line with contractual commitments.

* Liaise with Customer regarding progress, inspection, delivery, documentation (Test, Quality & commercial), etc

* To provide input to the Project Plan that will include a GANTT chart showing the management and technical activities and associated time scales of the programme.

* To manage the delivery of equipment shipment from client location to the sites.

* To provide regular internal progress and financial reports to the Business Development Engineer.

* To define the commercial procedures and be responsible for all aspects of contract management.

* To advise on contract compliance and commercial matters.

* To ensure that procurement specifications adequately reflect the terms and condition of the contract.

* To facilitate, submit and negotiate Contract variations.

Tendering

* To help support aftermarket Sales representatives

* Support preparation of detailed cost estimates and specifications.

* Coordinate with Tendering engineers to highlight areas whereby the Company's products do not satisfy the customer specification.

* Occasional participation in detailed pre-order negotiations.

* Customer liaison/relationship management.

The Person

* The role requires self-motivated individuals who possess and can display a confident, mature, attitude who is contract project driven.

* Good communication skills (written & oral)

* Client facing

* The position is based at our client offices, however travel on company business may be necessary.

* A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications or Functional Experience

* An Electrical background with ONC/HNC/BTEC qualifications (preferred)

* Candidates with relevant commercial experience

* Knowledge and exposure of Contract management

System Knowledge:

* Good computer Skills (Microsoft Office)

* Electrical Awareness Training
