Beverage Development Manager - Avonmouth - Permanent - Circa GBP40,000 + benefits & bonus
Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Beverage Manager to join their Avonmouth team. This role will lead the development of all beverage products, supporting multiple functions. Providing end-to-end NPD project management, from concept to successful product launch.
Responsible for ensuring that all products are compliant for the intended product classification and market, using both personal expertise and the advice of regulatory authorities and industry bodies where appropriate, providing the relevant supporting documentation for product compliance approval.
Providing technical support in order to ensure that the liquid specifications are fit-for-purpose, both in terms of production compatibility, quality and trade performance. The role will be part of a continuous improvement culture looking at all areas of beverage performance providing a source of innovation and competitive advantage for the organisation.
Key accountabilities include:
* Research & create liquid development briefs to support Marketing initiatives. This includes legislative requirements, assessing operational options and briefing flavour houses.
* On time in budget delivery of new beverage products.
* The creation and collation of relevant documentation including:
* Draft formulation calculations for review and sign off.
* Fusion data sheet creation for compliance sign off.
* Collation of technical and safety data sheets from suppliers.
* Providing technical expertise covering issues of issues of legislation and compliance for multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business.
* Working with internal stakeholders and external operators to continually review and optimise beverage formulations and process.
* Providing technical support in resolving specific production issues.
* Working with suppliers on cost reduction and development initiatives.
* Leading product tastings / presentation internally and to prospective customers
* Co-ordinate external operations new product introduction to external facilities. This is from a product management role and not technical expertise.
About you:
* You will have established technical and regulatory knowledge with manufacturing and related processes.
* Full understanding of the principles of manufacturing.
* Knowledge of technical legislation by production and sales region.
* Familiar with the development and implementation of business process development & lean operations.
* Ability to work on a number of concurrent projects, servicing a variety of internal and external customers.
* Analytical and creative thinker.
* You will have the flexibility to work out of office hours to accommodate the occasional call with international colleagues and have the ability to travel to additional UK sites if required
