An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Tax Administrator to join a small but busy Accountancy firm in Sheffield.
If you have a passion for maths and working with numbers then this might be the role for you!
You will be responsible for ensuring that all functions are carried out to the remit given ensuring at all times that the interests of the client and company are of the highest priority, working within FCA legislation and meeting the company's standards.
Main Duties:
o To complete clients annual tax returns and submit online - arrange for payment of tax and payment of our charges
o To complete Lasting Power of Attorney documents and process
o To provide cover for reception duties such as dealing with all incoming calls, greeting visitors and relaying messages during holiday and sickness periods.
o To type letters and reports to a high grammatical standard, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
o To provide cover for reception in opening and distributing the post
o To process annual Chargeable event certificates to all clients.
o To train and provide ad hoc cover for work e.g. quarterly fees and income and investment list.
o Daily dealing online placing and selling investments working to tight deadlines
o Preparation of new appointment packs, ensuring that all required documents and application forms are completed and prepared. Ensuring that the diary is kept up-to-date
o Filing of all client documents, ensuring client files are maintained in a tidy and organized manner
o To manage ad hoc projects as requested ensuring that detailed records are maintained and requirements are agreed with all staff and management; present report of findings to management for agreement.
o To ensure that all client and supplier information is maintained and amended on Durell accurately.
o Preparation of client valuations
o To deal with client enquiries, always responding immediately to requests in a polite and efficient manner.
o To ensure you are compliant with all internal systems and obtain sufficient knowledge to understand the FSA requirements and requirements of the company.
o To prioritise work ensuring work of the highest priority is completed, always checking with management for agreed deadlines.
o To carry out alternative duties as reasonably requested in line with your ability
The ideal candidate will be..
o An experienced administrator with excellent administration skills including accuracy, attention to detail and loads of common sense with the ability to check your own work accurately.
o Knowledge and experience of taxation and/or accountancy is a distinct advantage
o Experience working on Online Tax returns would be a definite advantage although not essential as training will be given
o High level of literacy and numeracy is essential as most of your work will be numerical so accuracy is key.
o Able to work to deadlines and under pressure
o Ability to multi-task
o Confident and pleasant telephone manner
o Good knowledge of word, excel and client contact systems
o Flexible approach
o Must be a good team player with the ability to learn new tasks quickly
This is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours a week - 9am to 5pm Mon to Fri. Free onsite parking is available!
Salary 18- GBP20k
