Our client provides a wide range of activities and support for adults and children with learning disabilities, physical disabilities with accompanying learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions. They particularly focus on individuals with the most complex needs. They currently support individuals, predominately adults, across the North West to live a more independent life with a particular focus on Stockport and some of the surrounding local authority areas.

Due to a recent restructure, an opportunity has been created for an Operations Manager to join them to provide strong leadership and management to the Heads of Services (Community, Residential and Day) so that they are developed, organised and operate as an effective management team.

Ensuring operational reliability, consistency and affordability to those they support, you will contribute to their strategic planning, governance, quality improvement and financial and performance management processes and subsequently take operational responsibility for the effective implementation of these processes. 

Developing and maintaining key relationships with external partners both locally and regionally to sustain SCP offer, you will ensure that regulatory and professional standards are adhered to while working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and HR Advisor to ensure that they remain an attractive provider/employer within social care.  Identifying and overseeing a robust financial management process, you will be accountable for managing budgets as delegated by the SLT and for negotiations with local authority/health commissioners and senior managers regarding framework agreements, contracts and compliance.

Candidates for this opportunity must be experienced senior managers from within the social care sector who have a background of managing or overseeing operational managers who, in turn, are responsible for day, residential and community provisions. 

With experience of managing both Operational and Registered Managers in social care settings, you will have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Regulation and Legislation in relation to the children and adult disability sector and an understanding of CQC and the ability and experience to ensure service provisions meet the compliance standards to achieve at the very least a ‘Good’ rating.

You must also have experience of managing change and service redesign to ensure a reliable, consistent and affordable offer in an evolving sector and demonstrate an understanding of budgets and financial management.
