Senior Data Protection Practitioner
Location: Dundee
Salary: GBP139.72 per day
Temporary role: 3 months with possibility of extension
Hours: 37 hours, Monday to Friday
Pertemps Dundee are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join their public sector client in an interim role for their new established agency. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who has a desire to help deliver a stronger and fairer Scotland. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws and the willingness to travel between offices in Dundee and Glasgow.
Your key duties will involve:
- Deputise and support in delivering the tasks of the data protection officer and ensure information is managed respectfully
- Promote and advise senior management on a Privacy by Design discipline and approach
- Provide guidance and expert advice to staff across Scotland with reference to; all aspects of data protection, freedom of information and records
- Manage policies and procedures to ensure staff can deliver its obligations relating to individual rights and other legislative information requests
- Responsible for facilitation of management review processes and record of processing operations
- Create and update guides on information and data protection policies and deliver training when required
- Observe and follow up on legislative changes, and issue recommendations to ensure evidence compliance
Knowledge & Skills:
- Expert knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws, and/or have expert operational knowledge and application of data protection principles and practices
- A high standard of verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and sound judgement
- Have the ability to undertake analysis, provide advice, recommendations, reports, briefings and presentations
The successful candidate will be required to travel between Dundee and Glasgow and occasionally travel to Edinburgh.
The successful candidate must also have a valid Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate.
