Ecological Consultant - Blackburn
A reputable ecological consultancy in the North West of England are seeking a passionate Ecological Consultant to aid with the continued growth of their practice. Our client aim to provide expert services and solutions to a broad range of clients, tailored to the needs of each individual project.
Your duties as an Ecological Consultant will include field-based duties and office-based responsibilities. Fieldwork may include undertaking a range of ecological surveys (e.g. Phase 1 Habitat, Various Protected Species Surveys), Ecological Clerk of Works duties and design/implementation of protected species mitigation plans. Desk-based tasks may include preparing ecological reports and similar documents, conducting desktop studies and preparing maps (QGIS).
Qualifications and Experience
* At least 2 years' experience in ecological consultancy, with demonstrable report writing, ECoW and project management experience.
* At least 1 degree in Ecology or another relevant discipline.
* Excellent field surveying skills (particularly protected species and botanical identification).
* Demonstrable knowledge of the UK planning system and current wildlife legislation.
* CIEEM membership.
* Hold a protected species survey licence (Bat highly desirable) or show evidence of working to obtain this.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
