Position Description

SLD Pumps and Power is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer / Diesel Fitter to cover a territory across the South East of England.

What will I do?

The Mechanical Engineer / Diesel Fitter role will involve;
Maintaining and servicing plant equipment, specifically pumps and generators, ensuring all returned equipment is ready for re-hire
Travelling across the region (predominantly South East) to customer sites / SLD Depots where additional support is required
Servicing on-site equipment for a range of clients, ensuring all Health and Safety Procedures are consistently met
Respond to client call-outs, working on a 24 hour on-call service rota
Reporting any issues where necessary

A high level of customer service is required as SLD operate strict Service Level Agreements across all of our clients, meaning all call-outs and issues with machinery need to be dealt with promptly and professionally.

Required Experience

To be considered for the Mechanical Engineer / Diesel Fitter vacancy the successful individual will have to have a solid amount of experience within a Mechanical Engineering / Diesel Fitter role, preferably working with pumps and generators. Whilst not essential it would be advantageous to have worked within the field, amongst different sites/customers. Candidates will also need to be confident and professional, consistently communicating a positive customer/client experience and will hold a Full UK Driving License.

This is a regional role and the successful individual will be required to travel where necessary and periodically stay overnight fully funded by the company.

You will be paid on an hourly rate and will boost your earnings through overtime/call-outs.
