Trade Waste Officer
An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to work within the Public Sector in Tiverton area.
Trade Waste Officer needed urgently!
Full time hours, 37h per week, hours flexible to fit around customers.
Pay rate: GBP14.03 per hour
This position is in the permanent establishment so could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Extra benefits available after 12 weeks of assignment.
Key skills:
* Cold calling involved so a friendly, confident manner needed to succeed. Ideal candidate will be able to use their own initiative and work independently.
* Knowledge of Mid Devon area.
* Competent in the use of information technology.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Good written communications skills.
* Negotiation skills.
* Use of own vehicle essential.
* To work unsociable hours on occasions.
Desirable Skills:
* To have trade waste and recycling experience.
* An awareness of refuse collection, waste minimisation and recycling issues and technologies.
* Knowledge of waste and trade waste legislation.
* Local Government working practices.
Main Duties:
* Maintain the database of customers, their requirements and ensure accurate and timely billing and issue of waste transfer notes for the service.
* To actively seek out additional customers and promote trade waste and recycling services.
* Liaise with Operations Manager and other staff to facilitate the efficient running of the trade waste service.
* To visit customers as required.
* To survey customers as necessary.
* To develop and expand waste management schemes, including recycling, to clients.
* To assist other members of the Street Scene Services Management Team as required.
* To liaise with District Officer and Environmental Services enforcement work when required.
* To be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of trade waste wheeled bins and all related stock items in liaison with the Refuse Supervisor.
